Join us for the 2026 Army HBCU-MI SPARK Symposium—a dynamic, one-day event showcasing the research achievements of interns from Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority-Serving Institutions who spent their summer embedded in Army research laboratories across the nation. Under the guidance of Army scientists and engineers, these interns tackled real-world challenges in disciplines such as cybersecurity, materials engineering, data science, and environmental science, aligning with the Army’s six Critical Technology areas and the Department of War’s nine modernization priorities.

Attendees will hear opening remarks from Army and university leadership, engage directly with intern researchers during an extended poster showcase, and gain insight from both SPARK alumni and senior leaders across the research community. The program features a special keynote speaker, along with presentations from Army research organizations and partners, followed by an exhibitor showcase designed to encourage continued connection and engagement.

Throughout the day, you’ll have opportunities to connect with Army personnel, university faculty, and other STEM professionals in a setting designed to foster meaningful exchange and strengthen research partnerships.

  • Gluten-friendly boxed lunches include chips and a gluten-friendly chocolate brownie.
  • Chip and dessert flavors cannot be selected.
  • Sandwich substitutions or customizations are not available.

If you prefer not to receive a boxed lunch, you may select the option to decline. Please be aware that this selection cannot be changed on the day of the event, as all lunches must be ordered in advance.
